“Having your picture taken is something that most people seem to dislike - I am most definitely one of them! They say you have to face your demons so I agreed to give it a try. For Most people's fear of being in front of the camera comes thinking the look daft when they smile. The beauty of this kind of dark, moody photography is that you don't have to smile. I was asked to bring whatever I wanted to wear and ideas for my hair and make-up that I wanted to try. For the biggest reason that one of the images would be published in this newspaper I decided to opt for fully clothed images! Immediately on walking into the studio I felt a bit more relaxed. Having your hair and make-up done by a professional is a very different experience. For one thing the make-up is applied with a lot more care and the hair is styled a lot quicker than I would do it myself. It is thoroughly enjoyable and is a good method of helping you relax before the photography starts. During the session I moved and posed as directed and was hoping I would get some nice images out of it!
